Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to every game server, VPS, dedicated server, IP address and other service provided by M&A GOODS LLC ("we", "us"). It forms part of our Terms and Conditions. By ordering or using our services you agree to it, and you are responsible for all traffic and activity originating from your services, including activity by your own users or by anyone who compromises your service.

The latest version of this policy is also published at https://magoods.org/acceptable-use-policy.

Prohibited activity

You may not use our services, networks or IP addresses, directly or through a third party, for any of the following:

  • Sending spam or unsolicited bulk email, or operating, promoting or hosting any service or website advertised through spam, including mailing to purchased, rented or scraped address lists.
  • Phishing, pharming or any attempt to obtain credentials, payment details or personal data under false pretenses, including hosting phishing pages or kits.
  • Port scanning, network probing or vulnerability scanning of systems you do not own or have written permission to test.
  • Brute-force, password-spraying or credential-stuffing attacks against any service (SSH, RDP, web logins, mail, databases or otherwise).
  • Denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, booter/stresser services, amplification or reflection attacks, or any other outbound attack traffic.
  • Operating or controlling botnets, command-and-control (C2) servers, or compromised machines.
  • Running open proxies, open mail relays, open DNS resolvers or other open amplifiers (for example open NTP, SSDP or Memcached), whether intentionally or through misconfiguration.
  • Hosting, distributing or controlling malware, ransomware, viruses, exploit kits or cryptojacking scripts.
  • Rotating, cycling or requesting IP addresses to evade blocklists, filters or bans, or otherwise working around a listing instead of fixing its cause.
  • Forging packet headers, email headers or sender identity, or spoofing source IP addresses.
  • Any unlawful activity, or content that infringes the intellectual property or other rights of others.

Email sending and ports 25 and 465

Outbound SMTP on TCP port 25 and outbound SMTPS on TCP port 465 are blocked by default on all services. Mail submission on port 587 used with a mail provider is not affected by this policy.

If you need to send email directly from your server, you can request ports 25 and 465 to be opened by opening a support ticket in the "Port 25 / rDNS request" department. We require: a valid reverse DNS (PTR) record matching your sending hostname, published SPF and DKIM records for your sending domain, a description of what you send and your expected volume, and a working unsubscribe mechanism for any bulk or marketing mail.

We may refuse or revoke access to ports 25 and 465 at any time, including when an IP address is listed on a public blocklist or we receive complaints about your mail.

Enforcement

  • We may suspend any service involved in a violation immediately and without prior notice, to protect our network, our IP reputation and other customers.
  • Serious or repeated violations lead to termination of the affected services and may lead to closure of your account.
  • No refund or credit is given for any service suspended or terminated because of a violation of this policy.
  • We cooperate with upstream providers, IP address holders and law enforcement, and may share relevant records with them where the law allows.
  • You are responsible for any costs we incur because of your violation, including blocklist removal and upstream fees.

Your responsibility to secure your service

You must keep your operating system and software patched, use strong authentication, and fix any compromise promptly. A compromised service that sends abusive traffic is treated as a violation of this policy until it is cleaned, even if you did not cause the compromise.

Reporting abuse

To report abuse originating from our network, email [email protected]. See our abuse reporting page for what to include in a report.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy at any time. The updated policy takes effect when it is published on this page.
